CLE Seminar and Reception
Legal Strategies to End Homelessness
|
January 26, 2009
Homelessness is on the rise, increasing by as much as 33 percent in some communities due to the present economic and foreclosure crisis. Families and children, the most vulnerable part of our population, are at increased risk.
Pro bono attorneys play an important role in protecting the rights of homeless individuals and families, as well as those at-risk of homelessness. In this CLE, learn about how you can help protect the rights of homeless individuals and families, and the current legal issues surrounding this fight.
Using real life examples, pro bono attorneys and practitioners will discuss their past efforts in protecting these individuals' rights, through actions such as litigation to ensure homeless children have access to school or to protect the homeless from being criminally punished for their status.
Registration is free, however, space is limited and we strongly recommend registering early.
