Title V of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act makes unused federal buildings and property available at no cost to private nonprofit organizations and government agencies that assist people who are homeless.

This fact sheet provides basic information about the program, how to find available property, and how to apply.  Eligible property may be used for shelter, child care, job training, transitional housing, food distribution, mental health services, and substance abuse programs.
