A Report to the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
Racial Discrimination in Homelessness and Affordable Housing in the United States
In April, 2007, the U.S. government released its long-overdue report to the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD). Next February, CERD is due to evaluate U.S. compliance with the International Convention for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).
This Shadow Report to CERD describes the discriminatory impact of U.S. housing policy on minorities - a problem overlooked in the official U.S. report.
