Testimony on DC Homeless Services Reform Amendment Act of 2010

Legislation would limit availability of severe weather shelter

On November 8, Law Center Civil Rights Director Tulin Ozdeger testified before the DC City Council's Committee on Human Services, arguing vigorously against passage of Bill 18-1059, the Homeless Services Reform Amendment Act of 2010.

This legislation would impose unfair restrictions on verification of DC residency, limit the availability of severe weather shelter, and allow shelter providers to cram multiple families into the same living space.
