End Homelessness Now

Homelessness bears terrible human, social, and economic costs. If action is not taken quickly, there is a risk that these costs will be accepted as tolerable. The main causes of homelessness include lack of affordable housing and inadequate income and the unavailability of social services.  Violations of homeless individuals civil rights exacerbates the problem.

This article calls on President Clinton to end homelessness during his administration by increasing the availability of affordable housing, ensuring adequate incomes and social services, and safeguarding the civil rights of homeless people. It argues that ending homelessness requires more than emergency relief.  It requires long-term solutions.
