Homeless Action Center SSI Class Action Complaint

This class action lawsuit argued that the California Department of Social Services and the U.S. Social Security Administration violated federal regulations governing the evaluation and approval of claims for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). 

Their disregard caused the wrongful and unlawful denial of SSI and SSDI benefits to thousands of poor, homeless and mentally ill applicants who did not have the means nor the tenacity to navigate a subtly, but profoundly, biased application and evaluation process.
