Community Housing Trust v. D.C. Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs

NLCHP Amicus Brief

NLCHP and other organizations filed an amicus brief in a case challenging a D.C. law requiring groups of unrelated people to obtain a city-issued certificate of occupancy before living in a home together.

This brief supports the plaintiffs argument that the ordinance violates the Fair Housing Act because it permits discrimination against group homes for people with disabilities.
